Catalunya enjoys a mediterranean climate, with lots of sunny days a year, -- in the summer up to 10 hours of sun a day--. Summers can be very hot and humid. It's the time to be by the seaside where the marine breeze helps with the heat.
During the winter, just a few days of intense cold, most of it is really mild, and on sunny days you might even feel to be in springtime.
It doesn't usually rain a lot along the year. Barcelona suffers, as most of Spain, scarcity of rainfalls. Rains usually concentrate in spring and fall. Then, a phenomenon called the "cold drop" sometimes occurs: Strong sudden showers and torrential rains that cause floods and other disasters.
